DISTRICT

• Actively attended 50 plus live school board meetings and study sessions. I take the time to research and prepare remarks based on an in-depth knowledge of District actions and policy. If elected in November, Id be able to hit the ground running and effect change where it can make the most impact. 
• 4 students who attended Districts from 1st - 12th grade: One currently at LBHS, two who went on to graduate from the colleges of their choice, and one currently in college. From athletic transfers to MFA/theater applications, I'm familiar with what it takes to get kids on the path to bright futures.

• We have been a crazy busy family of 6 doing sports, hobbies, friends, school and more! We’ve had AP kids, theater kids, and athletic kids in our schools—at one point, four campuses at once—so I’ll bring a balanced perspective to the issues we’re facing because I’ve been there. We're now entering our 21st year in LBUSD and winding down our time as parents in the school and we see the value I can bring and give back to a school community that we have been a part of and fought for, for so long. 
• My husband Mike grew up in a military family that traveled the world but was stationed in Coronado, CA. His father was a submarine captain—perhaps that’s where his love of the ocean comes from. Mike loves scuba diving, swimming and tinkering on various projects. Mike has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) '91 Revelle college.He loves all things about ocean: scuba diving, paddling, tide pooling, golf, baseball and tinkering.
• Our oldest son Max graduated LBHS in 2016.  He was a competitive swimmer and part of the CIF winning team in 2015 as well as taking Honors and AP Classes his Soph., Junior and Senior year. He went on to the University of Utah with a Merit scholarship, an invitation to join their competitive D1 swim team and plans to study Computer science. He graduated in 2023 and is currently living in Utah working in his field. 
• Grady graduated in 2018 and was a three sport athlete thru most of his life, focusing on basketball and baseball at LBHS with his own CIF championship with the 2016 baseball team. He went on to Chico State and transferred to Fresno state earning a degree in Education Science. His team won the Mountain West Championship spring 2024 in baseball and first team honors while earning his degree.  He just wrapped up his first season with an MLB Affiliate team the Idaho Chukkars looking ahead to his dream.
• Cassidy graduated LBHS in 2022, Participated in theater, dance, MUN, Walking for Water and Cross Country. She took multiple AP Classes and four years of spanish. She's currently a Junior at UCSD studying Human Development.  In her free time she plays on UCSD's club Ultimate Frisbee and is a Wilderness Orientation guide with their Recreation department. Life is amazing for this Breaker!
• Maris is our caboose and in her senior year at LBHS. She is also a theater junkie and on dance company. She has been in every play and musical since Freshman year and played Karen last year in "Mean Girls", maybe you saw it? She won a Cappies Award for Best comedic actress in all of Orange County which was pretty fun. She has been heavily involved in the marketing and PR for the theater and dance programs and helped initiate the Cappies program, a student review program, back to LBHS. She is in the process of college applications so we shall wait to see where she will go! 
• As for pets we have two kitties, a long hair, blue eyed cat named Izzy - 9 and Misa - 11 named for Mesa AZ, where we got her. We also have Cooper who is 16 and a half. He is a sweet old man and every day with him is a gift. He's our family pup and went everywhere with us while the kids were growing up. We know his time with us is limited and appreciate being able to care for him as his love cared for us through the years.
